Research you can read, trust and verify.

SciThemis publishes papers from AI to chemistry with their quality made visible: who contributed what, which claims are supported by which evidence, how it was reviewed, and a record anyone can verify.

One platform, every discipline

Concepts are tagged against shared ontologies, so a query in data science also finds the physics and chemistry work that uses the same methods.

Quality, made visible

Every paper is assessed by what it claims to contribute

An engineering prototype is not judged like a clinical trial, and a first idea is not penalised for having no data yet. SciThemis builds an evidence graph linking claims to the evidence behind them.

Empirical study

Is the evidence sound?

Study design, controls, bias, effect sizes, uncertainty and reproducibility, checked against CONSORT, STROBE or STARD.

Theoretical work

Is the argument correct?

Logical consistency, formal correctness, assumptions, explanatory and predictive power, falsifiability, supported by proofs and models.

Conceptual / first idea

Is the idea worth pursuing?

Originality, coherence, problem importance and testability. Missing empirical validation is marked not applicable, never a defect.

Humans decide. AI assists.

AI screens for plagiarism, fabricated references, image manipulation and prompt injection, with evidence for every finding. No automated system accepts or rejects a paper.

Authors

Credit for everything researchers actually do

Profiles show contributions by CRediT role, peer reviews given, reproduced outputs and data sets, not just a citation count.

Universities & institutes

Institutions keep their identity

Journals publish under their own brand and policies. Universities see their members' output, open-access compliance and evaluation dossiers in one dashboard.

Every indicator in a dossier traces back to verifiable source records with documented methodology, aligned with DORA and the Leiden Manifesto.

For publishers & journals

The complete pipeline, or just the parts you need

Run your journal end to end, keep OJS or ScholarOne and add our checks via API, or host a federated node on-premise.

Connects with: OJS · ScholarOne · Editorial Manager · ORCID · ROR · Crossref · DataCite · OpenAlex · arXiv · PubMed · ThaiJO · JATS XML · OAI-PMH
For investors

Infrastructure for trusted science

Why now · 01

The integrity crisis

Paper mills, fabricated references and AI-generated text are outpacing manual editorial checks.

Why now · 02

Open-access mandates

Funders require open licences such as CC BY under Plan S, and institutions must prove compliance.

Why now · 03

Assessment reform

DORA and the Leiden Manifesto push universities from journal metrics toward evidence of real contribution.

Revenue model

Thailand changes the picture: free for authors is not a selling point

Thai authors already pay. Fees are normal even in TCI Tier 1 journals on ThaiJO, so a basic article-processing fee isn't a barrier — it's the market norm, and being free wouldn't win authors.

Submission + publication fees

Journal of Current Science and Technology (TCI Tier 1, Scopus Q2) charges a non-refundable 3,000 THB fee at submission, then 7,500 THB if accepted.

Flat charges are common

3,000–4,500 THB is typical. Journal of Graduate Research (TCI 1) charges 4,500 THB per manuscript; BU Academic Review charges 3,000 THB after preliminary checks, before external review.

Higher charges exist too

Chulalongkorn's Southeast Asian Journal of Economics charges 12,000 THB on acceptance.

What wins Thai authors is whether a publication counts for graduation and promotion — which means TCI tier or Scopus indexing, not price. A new SciThemis venue starts with neither. That changes the strategy more than the price does.

1

Onboard existing TCI journals first

Don't launch our own venue. They already run on ThaiJO (OJS), which is exactly our integration mode. We sell AI screening, integrity reports, translation and anchoring; their authors keep indexed publications, and we get volume without having to solve indexing.

2

Sell to universities, not authors

Faculties already pay article fees for staff, and graduate students must publish to graduate. An institutional membership covering fees, integrity checks and evaluation dossiers fits budgets that already exist.

3

Treat own venues as a later step

Launch them once the platform has a track record that TCI can actually evaluate.

Proposed model for Thai/ASEAN

The THB ranges are anchored to the market above; the exact figures are decisions still to be taken.

Tier Price Notes
Open channel (M0) Free for 3 months Screened only; rate-limited per ORCID
Basic (M1/M2) ~3,000 THB, paid at submission and outcome-independent Below typical Thai APC totals; avoids accept-for-fee incentives. Waivers for students from low-income ASEAN countries
Reviewer credits Earned per editor-rated review ~2–3 credits cover one Basic submission; non-transferable; can also discount premium services
Institutional membership Annual, sized by faculty count Covers members' fees, dashboards, evaluation dossiers, PDPA-compliant hosting
Journal integration (for TCI journals) Per-submission check bundle Screening, similarity, citation integrity, EN↔TH translation, anchoring
Premium (M3, certified translation) Paid in THB, partly payable in credits Translation is a strong ASEAN upsell
Evidence graph moat
Claims, evidence and assessments linked across every publication compound in value.
Federation, not replacement
Existing journals join without giving up brand, policies or their current system.
Sovereign AI
Self-hosted models for confidential manuscripts; on-premise nodes for universities.
Compliance built in
GDPR, Thai PDPA and EU AI Act transparency designed in from day one.
Roadmap

From pilot venue to federated network

Phase 1

MVP

Submission, screening, peer review, publication, anchoring, search and privacy centre.

Phase 2

Pilot institutions

First university journal onboarded, evaluation dossiers piloted, subscriptions live.

Phase 3

Federation

Deep review, translation marketplace, federated nodes and verifiable credentials.
